The Pinyon Jay is slate-colored dusty blue with a short tail. They are highly intelligent and have amazing memory banks. They cache thousands of seeds each year and are capable of recalling their spots months later.
They prefer the pinyon-juniper woodlands that span lower mountains and foothills. They live in large flocks of 250 to 500.
Fill the feeder with their favorite ingredients like peanuts, cracked corn and sunflower seeds.
