Pinyon Jay

Physical Traits

The Pinyon Jay is slate-colored dusty blue with a short tail. They are highly intelligent and have amazing memory banks. They cache thousands of seeds each year and are capable of recalling their spots months later.

Habitat

They prefer the pinyon-juniper woodlands that span lower mountains and foothills. They live in large flocks of 250 to 500.
