American Robin

Physical Traits

This is a large and sturdy bird with a long tail.  The breast is orange with a grayish back.  They are commonly found in large flocks.

Habitat

American Robins are commonly seen on grassy lawns but can also be found in forests and tundras.  In the winter they will spend their time in wooded areas to forage for shriveled berries.

Feeder Tips

Robins prefer worms and berries but can be found at feeders eating fruit including grapes and berries.  In the winter months they will visit trees that have berries from the summer growing season.  To attract them hang a nesting box, plant fruit-bearing trees and shrubs and set out a bird bath.
