White-breasted Nuthatch
White-breasted Nuthatch

Physical Traits: This is an entertaining acrobatic bird. It's often called the upside-down bird because it runs headfirst down the trunks of trees. It is gray above, white below and has a black cap.

Habitat: It nests in trees lined with plant fibers. They use nest boxes. White-breasted Nuthatches can be found in forests and woodlands where they methodically search trees for insects.

Recommended Feeder: Large hopper, large tube feeder, platform, small hopper, small tube

Feeder Tips: Hanging the feeder from a tree branch or close to a tree trunk is optimal. Squirrel baffles are always recommended.

States and Regions Found: White-breasted nuthatches are found from Southern Canada to Mexico.
