Eastern Towhee
Physical Traits: The Eastern Towhee is a medium-sized songbird with a dark head and back. The chest and belly are white. Depending on the location in the United States the eye color is red or white. Habitat: Nests are often on the ground at the base of shrubs and are made of local debris consisting of bark, dead leaves, grass and small twigs. The nest is lined with fine grass, roots and sometimes hair. This bird breeds in shrub habitats in residential areas as well as open ground.
