Carolina Chickadee
Physical Traits: Carolina Chickadee is identified with its black cap and throat. It's often confused with the Black-capped Chickadee. The Carolina Chickadee has white edges on its wing feathers and a rougher bib. It has four notes in its sound "Fee bee fee bay" Habitat: It nests in holes of dead trees. They are in woodlands and wooded suburbs. They often hang from branches to feed on insects, seeds and berries. Recommended Feeder: Lyric Chickadee Feeder Feeder Tips: Chickadees are sure-footed and need no perches. The Lyric Chickadee feeder allows the bird to cling to the rough cedar wood while maneuvering seed from the holes. Hang your Chickadee feeder in or near a tree, and always use a squirrel guard, because sunflower seeds and nuts are squirrels' favorites, too. States and Regions Found: Southeastern United States
